Arrival & Dismissal: A Family Guide

Morning Arrival

• General Information
  • Bob Beatty Rd. is one-way, south to north, during pick up and drop off. Enter Bob Beatty from the south at the Davis General Store, proceed north and exit onto Old Statesville Rd. at Prime Storage. 
  • Drivers, please refrain from using cell phones or mobile devices once you enter school driveways. 

• Morning drop off is from 8:00-8:30am for all K-12 students
  • Drop your child off at:
    • Grades K-2: Red Barn driveway
    • Grades 3-4: Croft Schoolhouse driveway
    • Grade 5: Asbury using designated 5th grade drive in front of building
    • Grades 6-12: Hive driveway
  • If you have a K-2nd grader AND a 3rd or 4th grader, drop them all off at the Red Barn between 8:00am and 8:30am
  • If you have students at both Barn/Croft and Asbury/Hive, drop off Barn/Croft student(s) first, then proceed to Asbury/Hive. Allow enough time to drop off all students by 8:30am.
  • If you have a 5th grader and a student(s) in grades 6-11, drop them all off at the Hive using the Hive drive

• Morning drop off for PreOneer students 8:45-9:00am
  • Drop your child off at the Red Barn driveway

Afternoon Dismissal & Pickup

Each year, we strive to improve our afternoon dismissal and pickup to make things run as safely and efficiently as possible. Over the next few weeks, we will be sharing important information for our families to ensure picking up your scholar is as straightforward and stress free as possible.

Dismissal for the upcoming school year will be staggered into two groupings:

K-5  will dismiss at 3:00-3:30pm
6-12 will dismiss at 3:30-4pm

The most efficient times to pick up your students without a long line have historically been the final 15 minutes of each dismissal (K-5 3:15-3:30pm, 6-12 3:45-4pm).

New for 2024-2025

We will be transporting elementary students that have older siblings to the middle/high school complex for afternoon dismissal.  If you have an elementary student and a middle/highschool student, you will pick up both of your students starting at 3:30pm at the middle school circle drive.
The goal of this change is to reduce the number of cars that  back up on Bob Beatty Road.  In order for dismissal to run safely and efficiently, we are asking three important things from families:

1. Please arrive no earlier than 10 minutes before your student’s dismissal time. Arriving early causes too many cars arriving at one time, slowing down the process for everyone.
2. If you have both elementary and middle/high school students, complete the Sibling Afternoon Pick Up Form at the following link: https://forms.gle/hftw2SBttpFYP7gt5
3. Have patience as we start a new school year.  ​

If you wish to pick up your students separately instead of having your elementary student transported to the middle/high school, that is still an option.  Please be aware, once the elementary student is picked up, you will need to exit Bob Beatty Road and return to the middle school/ high school carline no earlier than 3:20pm. You will not be able to pull into the Hive Circle Drive and wait for the 3:30pm dismissal to begin.
With over 570 students, it takes a coordinated effort of staff, families, and students to make afternoon dismissal run safely.  Thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation as we begin a new school year.
