Toss n Sauce Friday may 27th
What is Toss n’ Sauce and why is it important?
Our annual Cornhole Tournament is a great time whether you are a competitive cornhole player, play for the fun of it or just want to hang out and listen to music with friends. Toss n’ Sauce is a fun way to reach out to our greater community, raise funds for our continued expansion and operations and have fun at our only adult-only event of the year! We created our own version of Cornhole with the added twist of shenanigans (rubber chickens, blind folds.....) to make it an even playing field for anyone wishing to have some fun! |
NatureCultivating a meaningful, lifelong connection to the natural world grounds students, encourages the kind of healthy risk-taking that results in meaningful learning, and allows kids an opportunity to discover that the wide world outside is not a place to be afraid of, but a place of discovery and growth.
Every student at Pioneer Springs Community School has the opportunity to participate in experiential nature based adventures to kick off the school year and an capstone experience as a celebration in the Spring. |
Real life learningAs a public charter school, our rigorous curriculum follows guidelines set by the state of North Carolina. The difference at Pioneer Springs is how these core subjects come alive for our students. Core concepts are presented in integrated hands-on, project based, and immersive experiences. Connections between disciplines are highlighted and learning is set in a compelling real-world context.
Students learn through experiences such as actual archeological digs, math through archery, and environmental science through survival challenges. |
Community At Pioneer Springs, we seek to create a true community of learning in which students are respected and taught as individuals, teachers are empowered to lead and inspire, and parents are included as essential participants in their child’s education. In the classroom, collaborative problem solving and respectful conflict resolution set the tone for a lifetime of successful peer interaction.

"Must we always teach our children with books? Let them look at the mountains and the stars up above. Let them look at the beauty of the waters and the trees and flowers on earth. They will then begin to think, and to think is the beginning of a real education."
