PSCS organizes the curriculum around vertical themes. In elementary school the themes are aligned to enable each grade level to teach similar science standards during the three trimesters. This vertical alignment enables grade levels to offer multigrade level engagement opportunities.
Teaching teams integrate the trimester themes throughout the curriculum so that not only are students experiencing the themes in science, but also in Social Studies, ELA, Math, and Connects classes. The end of each trimester culminates with a celebration of learning. The End of Trimester Celebrations give students the opportunity to demonstrate their learning to the PSCS community, families, and stakeholders.
