Pioneer blend
Looking for an alternative to homeschool that still allows for family flexibility? Consider Pioneer Springs Community School and the Pioneer BLEND program for grades K-2, a combination of on-campus activities and structured remote learning, all directed by a PSCS staff member in accordance with regular classroom instruction and the NC State Standard Course of Study. Instruction is prepared and paced by grade-level teachers and support services, including EC services, are available in this model for students with IEPs.

- BLEND includes a mandatory on-campus attendance at least 1 day per week including both instruction and social play. This component is a requirement of BLEND participation and those who do not attend on-campus will be removed from the program.
- Assignments, often project-based in design, are worked on throughout the week.
- Students get regular online support and engagement as they work throughout the week.
- Remote instruction consists of synchronous (real-time) engagements, asynchronous engagements, and online activities with instructional resources.
- Students must have access to a device with a camera to participate in the program.
- Attendance is taken on a weekly basis and students keep a log of their activities throughout the week as part of the attendance process.
