Pioneer HOME, a Holistic Online Meaningful Education, will provide families a virtual learning option in 2020-2021
WHAT IS PIONEER HOME?
Pioneer HOME, a self-paced learning environment, provides asynchronous lessons (not on the screen at the same time) via Google Classroom. This flexible format will provide students and families opportunities to consider their own schedules and needs.
The NC Standard Course of Study will remain the foundation for all instruction and accountability measures like assessments & state testing whether instruction takes place through remote learning or Pioneer HOME.
Focus Fridays will provide students time to meet with teachers, to engage in tutoring and instructional support.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HOMESCHOOLING AND SCHOOLING AT HOME WITH PIONEER HOME?
Homeschooling is an educational format where all responsibility lands firmly on the family. All curriculum, instructional strategies, supplies & materials, assessments, and scheduling is gathered, created, implemented, and evaluated by the family.
Schooling at home with Pioneer HOME places all things learning at your fingertips as PSCS professional teachers and education experts provide you all the curriculum, strategies, resources, and assessments necessary for success. Additionally, community & peer relations vitally important to your child’s development are a mainstay of PSCS.

PSCS will provide fidelity and commitment to all students with 504 and IEP plans through the Pioneer HOME choice.
WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN REMOTE LEARNING AND PIONEER HOME?
All PSCS students & teachers will begin school in a remote learning format. Teachers will balance instruction and directly engage with students through synchronous lessons (on the screen at the same time) and Google Classroom instruction. This collaborative format builds classroom community and student capacity for learning.
If and when PSCS moves to a hybrid model that includes in-person learning, your family will have the option of continuing learning at home with the new Pioneer HOME.
