REading Resources
Reading CheckUp
Ms. Kelley says this program is “AMAZING!!! It is seriously like having a private tutor tell you exactly what your child needs to work on and then GIVES you the resources to use!!” All you do is create an account, add your student (website says K-4 but the program only gives you an option of K-3), and then have your student take 2 quick quizzes. It determines their instructional level for their age as well as their reading level, shown by grade level. Then it tells you what type of attention you need to give them (broken down into a pie chart with student lead or adult lead instructions) and RESEARCH BASED interventions/ activities to do use for each skill the student needs to work on. You can also share information with the teacher so they can use the materials in their small groups.

ReadTheory
This program has been used at PSCS in the Summer Jump Start Program
A parent, or teacher, would create a "classroom" for their student (K-12) and have them take a pre assessment followed by at least one quiz. This would then create reports that show how they did on the quizzes, grade level performance levels, and Lexile level. This is an adaptive program, meaning it will adjust to the skills and abilities of the child and will give them appropriate reading passages and quizzes.

ReadWorks
You need to know your child's reading level in order to use this program properly. You can assign reading passages to your child and they can take comprehension quizzes to show their understanding. (You could use both of the above programs to learn their reading level and then use this program).
